What are the benefits for using wooden pallets vs plastic pallets?
Using the right type of pallet is an important part of how business functions are organized. Wooden pallets have been used for many years and are a trusted and reliable material for pallet construction. Meanwhile, plastic pallets are becoming a more popular option due to their lightweight and flexible nature.
Wooden pallets provide a range of advantages when used for Amazon fulfillment. Not only are they cost effective and widely available, but they are also stronger than plastic pallets. Wooden pallets have been used in shipping and storing goods for decades, and their durability in the long-term is proven. They also stack more easily, reducing the risk of items slipping when loaded. Additionally, wooden pallets tend to be more cost-effective, since they can be reused for many years without the risk of damage or breakage. They can also be dismantled and repurposed for crafts projects, mulching, or other purposes. For these reasons, wooden pallets are often a more advantageous option over plastic pallets.

Fabian Garay, salesman, started working there over three years ago and has since received promotions during his time. When he was in high school, Garay worked as a slab stacker due to only working on weekends and summers. He has now upgraded to salesman, as it directly correlates with his major.
“I have the privilege of being able to study market trends, learn the IPO system in the manufacturing industry, make strong connections with multiple people across several states, as well as learning about professionalism in and out of the workplace,” said Garay.
By working here before he graduates, Garay will already have hands-on experience for his desired career path. FG Sawmill is helping to prepare him for his future.

Quickly becoming a hot sensation in the pallet industry, FG Sawmill managed to get accepted into the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association. The N.W.P.C.A. offer many benefits to their members such as the PDS (Pallet Design System). PDS is a system that not only allows the pallet manufacturer to design pallets but also allows them to see the max capacity a certain pallet can hold, simply to insure all pallets are safe when distributed to customers. FG Sawmill took this revolutionary step into the right direction!
